Egypt Plans to Develop American Industrial Zone in Suez Canal Economic Zone

Cairo: Egyptian President, Abdulfattah Al-Sisi expressed Egypt's interest in establishing an American industrial zone in the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), emphasizing Egypt's readiness to offer full support and facilities to American investors.

According to Kuwait News Agency, he was speaking during a meeting in Cairo with the American delegation participating in the Egyptian-US Economic Forum - led by the President of the US Chamber of Commerce Suzanne Clark, and Chairman of the US-Egypt Business Council and CEO of Apache Corporation John J. Christmann.

Al-Sisi highlighted Egypt's ambition to become a major industrial hub for US industries and pointed to Egypt's strategic position as a gateway to the Arab world and Africa and its strong ties in the region.

He underscored Egypt's legislative and economic reforms, which have improved macroeconomic indicators, boosted productivity, and created new job opportunities, and also noted that the SCZONE offers extensive support for foreign companies and investors.

US Chamber of Commerce President Suzanne Clark emphasized the strength of the strategic partnership between Egypt and the US, noting the success of American companies operating in Egypt and their significant contribution to the country's development.

The meeting concluded with Al-Sisi reiterating Egypt's commitment to providing the necessary support and removing any obstacles facing American investors, in recognition of the unique relationship between Egypt and the US.
