Egypt Emphasizes Progression to Second Phase of U.S. Gaza Plan

Cairo: Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty announced the necessity of advancing to the second phase of U.S. President Donald Trump's Gaza plan, which includes political, developmental, and humanitarian components. This statement was made during a phone conversation with EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas, focusing on the Egypt-EU partnership, as well as current regional and international developments.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry's press release highlighted Abdelatty's emphasis on initiating early recovery and reconstruction steps for Gaza, ensuring that humanitarian aid is provided in sufficient quantities to meet the needs of the enclave's population. The discussion also covered the arrangements and preparations for the upcoming International Conference for Early Recovery and Reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, scheduled to take place in Cairo this month.

In addition to Gaza, the conversation addressed the situation in Sudan, where both parties agreed that a military solution is not viable. They called for the protection of Sudan's unity, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national institutions.
