Egypt and France Call for Just Resolution to Palestinian Issue

Kuwait city: Egypt's President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron have reiterated the urgency of achieving a fair and inclusive resolution to the Palestinian issue, aligning with international legitimacy resolutions.

According to Kuwait News Agency, during a telephone conversation, the leaders discussed Egypt's ongoing efforts to mediate a ceasefire in Gaza, the exchange of hostages, and the provision of adequate humanitarian aid to the residents of Gaza. Egyptian presidential spokesman Ambassador Mohammad Al-Shenawi conveyed this in a news statement.

President Al-Sisi expressed his approval of President Macron's recent announcement at the UN General Assembly in September, where France committed to officially recognizing the state of Palestine. This recognition is part of France's sustained efforts to implement the two-state solution, which is seen as the only viable path to ensuring peaceful coexistence between Palestinians and Israelis, and securing lasting peace and stability in the region.

Additionally, Egypt supports the Saudi-France initiative to organize a high-level international conference focused on the peaceful settlement of the Palestinian issue, scheduled to take place in New York this month, as highlighted in the statement.

President Macron also reiterated France's full support for Egypt's endeavors to facilitate a ceasefire in Gaza and to restart the peace process. Both leaders reaffirmed their strong bilateral relations and their commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors, particularly in economy and investments, as concluded in the statement.
