Doha: The Ministry of Education on Friday extended its congratulations to two Kuwaiti recipients of the prestigious Hamdan bin Rashid Award for Distinguished Academic Performance. The winners were officially selected as part of the Gulf Cooperation Council's 2025 cycle.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the awardees include Huda Al-Mutairi, a psychology teacher at Awatif Al-Adhabi Al-Sabah Secondary School in Ahmadi, who won in the Outstanding Teacher category, and student Hessa Al-Kakak from Fatima Al-Surraawi Secondary School in Hawalli, recognized in the Outstanding Student category.
Education Minister Dr. Adel Al-Tabtabaei personally called the winners to extend his congratulations, highlighting their achievements as a testament to the strength of Kuwait's education sector in regional forums. He attributed their success to dedication and sustained effort, commending the team responsible for preparing and following up the nomination files. Special mention was given to award coordinator Mohammed Al-Otaibi for his oversight and detailed work.
The Ministry explained that the award files, which documented three years of professional and academic performance, underwent a rigorous evaluation process. This process included professional reviews and online personal interviews to ensure the highest standards were met.
The results received formal approval from the Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Foundation for Medical and Educational Sciences. Details regarding the official honoring procedures are expected to be announced at a later date.
Expressing pride in this national educational achievement, the Ministry affirmed its commitment to supporting outstanding national talents. The winners are scheduled to be honored at a GCC-level ceremony in March.
