Displaced Palestinians Allowed to Return to Northern Gaza

Kuwait City: Displaced Palestinians in southern Gaza Strip will be permitted to return to their homes in the northern enclave following an agreement between Hamas and Israeli occupation forces, stated the Qatari Foreign Ministry on Monday. Under this understanding, Hamas will release Israeli occupation prisoner Arbel Yehud and two additional prisoners to Israeli forces before the coming Friday, according to the Qatari Prime Minister's advisor and Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Majed Al-Ansari, as reported by Qatar's official news agency.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the arrangement is part of ongoing mediator efforts to implement a ceasefire in Gaza. The deal also stipulates that Hamas will release three more prisoners to Israeli forces on Saturday. In exchange, the Israeli occupation will permit displaced Palestinians to return from the southern regions to the north. Additionally, a list of 400 Palestinian prisoners, detained since October 7, 2023, will be released in the initial phase of the agreement.
