Kuwait City: The Supreme Committee on Kuwaiti citizenship announced on Thursday the stripping of 640 citizenships, with the matter referred to the cabinet. The decision was made during the committee's meeting on Thursday, chaired by Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah.
According to Kuwait News Agency, a statement by the Ministry of Interior revealed that two individuals had their citizenship under article (10) stripped due to dual citizenship. Additionally, 66 people lost their article (21 bis A) citizenship due to forgery, fraud, and obtaining the document through affiliation. Furthermore, 375 individuals who had acquired their citizenship through recognition of valuable services had their article (13) citizenship revoked.
Moreover, the committee decided to strip 197 individuals of their article (13) citizenship due to fraud, false statements, and conflicts with the state's supreme interest.
