Doha: The 47th CISM World Military Parachuting Championship, also known as CISM Qatar 2025, concluded on Saturday at Umm Shkhoot Airport in Doha, drawing 320 participants from 30 countries. The championship saw Qatar achieving remarkable success by securing two gold medals in the target accuracy events, both in team and individual categories.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the championship brought together male and female parachutists competing in three disciplines: four-way formation, style, and target accuracy. The event showcased the skills and precision of the participants, culminating in a competitive display of military parachuting prowess.
The closing ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Maj. Gen. Dr. Yusef Al-Kuwari, President of the Military Sports Association; Brig. Gen. Mohammed bin Zayed Al Otaibi, Commander of the Joint Special Forces and Chair of Qatar Air Sports Committee (QASC); and Col. Nilton Gomes, President of the International Military Sports Council (CISM). Delegation heads, unit commanders, and other guests were also present to witness the event's conclusion.
The ceremony featured the Qatari national anthem, followed by a parade of participating teams to the CISM anthem. The event also included a precision honor guard display by Qatar's armed forces and evening aerial formations by Qatari parachutists, which drew admiration for their skill and discipline.
