China Pledges USD 100 Million Aid to Palestine During Macron’s Visit

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping announced on Thursday that China will provide USD 100 million in financial aid to Palestine to help ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and support reconstruction and the return of normal life.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the announcement came during the Chinese President's meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron, who arrived in Beijing on Wednesday for a three-day official visit. President Xi emphasized the importance of cooperation between China and France in seeking a comprehensive and lasting solution to the Palestinian issue.

President Xi Jinping highlighted the strong economic ties between Beijing and Paris, noting that bilateral trade reached USD 68.8 billion in the first 10 months of 2025, while two-way investment exceeded USD 27 billion. He called for expanding cooperation in traditional sectors such as aviation, space, and nuclear energy, as well as new areas including green and digital economies, biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and new energy.

On China-EU relations, President Xi stated that the strong economic links between China and Europe are beneficial, warning that attempts to separate their economies or limit trade could damage supply chains. He urged both sides to maintain cooperation for shared and stable growth.

Regarding the Ukraine crisis, the Chinese President reiterated China's support for peace efforts and expressed Beijing's willingness to play a constructive role in achieving a sustainable settlement through dialogue. He also voiced support for building a balanced European security framework.

French President Macron reaffirmed France's commitment to the One China policy and expressed readiness to deepen the comprehensive strategic partnership with China. He emphasized enhancing cooperation in investment, trade, renewable energy, and cultural exchange, in addition to coordinating on multilateral issues, climate change, and AI governance.

Following their discussions, the two leaders witnessed the signing of cooperation agreements in nuclear energy, agriculture, education, and environmental protection.
