Beijing: China's Ministry of Commerce has accused the United States of misusing export restrictions on Chinese semiconductor products, asserting that these actions significantly harm Chinese firms and global supply chains. The ministry stated that the US is abusing export controls by tightening restrictions on Chinese chips based on unfounded allegations, describing this as a threat to the stability of the global semiconductor industry and a hindrance to technological innovation. The statement was made in response to an announcement by the US Commerce Department's Bureau of Industry and Security, which claimed that the use of Huawei's Ascend AI chips anywhere in the world violates US export regulations. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Chinese ministry labeled the US actions as a blatant violation of the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese firms, urging the US to reverse its decision and collaborate with China. The ministry further warned that if the US continues to harm China's interests, China w ill take decisive measures to protect its legitimate rights and interests.
