Kuwait City: Kuwait's Acting Director General of the Central Agency for Information Technology (CAIT), Najat Ibrahim, reaffirmed the country's commitment to developing digital integration among Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. This initiative aims to enhance government services and support Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). She made these remarks at the 27th Executive Committee meeting on Digital Government, hosted in Kuwait. The meeting coincides with the GCC's 44th anniversary, reflecting the cooperation and progress among the member countries.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Najat Ibrahim praised the GCC Secretariat for its coordination and technical support of the committee. She described the meeting as a key step toward delivering smarter and more efficient government services. The committee reviewed the latest digital transformation initiatives under the GCC's 2024-2030 e-Government strategy. Discussions included a unified framework for digital access and the sixth edition of the Digital Government Award (DGA).
The committee also approved a new initiative to develop a unified Gulf strategy on artificial intelligence (AI). This strategy proposes workshops and expert forums focused on AI and the development of AI-based gaming, drawing from successful experiences across member states.
