Cabinet Declares Jan. 1 Holiday for New Year’s Day

Kuwait city: The Kuwaiti cabinet has announced that government bodies and entities will be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026, in observance of New Year's Day celebrations. This decision was made during the cabinet's weekly meeting held on Wednesday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the decree specifies that regular work schedules will resume on Sunday, January 4, 2026. The cabinet also noted that institutions with special operational requirements will continue to function during this period based on their specific needs and capacities.
