Bayt Abdullah Children’s Hospice: A Dignified Life Despite Illness

Manama: In a quiet corner of Kuwait: Bayt Abdullah Children's Hospice (BACCH) offers a sanctuary for children facing life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses. Founded by the Kuwait Association for the Care of Children in Hospital (KACCH), the hospice provides more than medical care, it brings comfort, dignity, and hope.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the hospice was inspired by Abdullah, a young boy whose treatment abroad had failed. It was created so children could live the remainder of their lives surrounded by love rather than hospital walls. Abdullah's courage and joy became the heart of a vision-a place where children could live fully, even in the face of serious illness.

Opened in 2012, Bayt Abdullah blends medical care with warmth and creativity. Children receive individualized treatment, therapeutic play, educational and recreational activities, and home care support. Free of charge and delivered with compassion, the hospice has become a pioneering model in the region, demonstrating how care, love, and human connection can transform the final chapter of a child's life.
