Bahrain set to mark World Humanitarian Day

The Kingdom of Bahrain will mark the UN World Humanitarian Day, annually observed on August 19, in honour of humanitarian aid workers worldwide.

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Salah Al Saleh congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

Bahrain led by HM the King has become a role model for humanitarian initiative and charity work, providing relief aid to disaster-hit peoples, he said in a statement on this occasion.

He commended Bahrain’s humanitarian record and charity contributions, citing mainly the delivery of medical aid and the construction of educational and social projects in many affected countries.

He hailed HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s keenness on supporting humanitarian and charity schemes, lauding the Government’s efforts which contributed to enhancing Bahrain’s standing.

Al Saleh also praised the role played by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HM the King’s Representative for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, Royal Humanitarian Foundation (RHF) Board of Trustees’ Chairman.
