Kuwait city: The Iraqi Kurdistan region affirmed on Thursday that two drones attacked the region, with one targeting a Norwegian oil field in Zakho and the other falling in Irbil. No human losses were reported.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Kurdistan's General Directorate of Counter Terrorism stated that a new drone attack targeted an oil field within the Zakho border, and neither human nor property losses were reported. In a subsequent statement, it announced another similar drone attack on an oil field near a village in Irbil, also without reported losses.
The Ministry of Natural Resources condemned the continuous attacks on the region's infrastructure and reiterated its call to the Iraqi government and the international community to work on protecting civilians close to the attacked sites. This incident brings the total to five attacks on oil fields in the Iraqi Kurdistan region that have been targeted this week.
