Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs, Oil Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani announced the launch of the sixth licensing round for the development of gas exploration blocks soon.
He said in a session entitled / Energy Sector in Iraq: Main Challenges and Future Strategies / within the Iraq Forum 2023: we will sign with Total within two weeks to invest gas at a rate of (600) cubic meters from (5) oil fields in Basra.
Abdul-Ghani added, “The export of oil extracted from the region’s oil fields will be resumed after the conclusion of contracts with importing companies, and the examination of the export pipeline by the Turkish BOTAS company.”
He pointed out to working to develop the infrastructure of export outlets.
Abdul-Ghani mentioned: The Prime Minister describes international companies as partners and instructs to provide an appropriate investment environment.
