ASBU Selected as Partner for Global Media Peace Awards

Tunis: The Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) was selected as an international partner for the second edition of the Global Media Peace Awards, organized by HEC Montreal in Canada and Japan-based Pale Bleu Dot Foundation. A statement by the union on Wednesday announced this collaboration, emphasizing its focus on conflict prevention and resolution, which mirrors the organizers' belief in the media's pivotal role in fostering principles of peace and dialogue.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the union's selection as an international partner aligns with its ongoing efforts to establish and strengthen regional and international partnerships and cooperation. The event encourages participation from radio and television broadcasters, digital media experts, and citizens, both public and private. Participants are invited to showcase their capabilities in preventing and resolving conflicts by sharing local, regional, and international stories related to conflict prevention and resolution.

The deadline for submitting programs focused on conflict prevention and resolution is set for August 31, 2025. The union has also reached out to its member radio and television organizations, urging them to partake in these competitions to bolster Arab participation in such global initiatives.
