Arab Parliament Welcomes Sanctions Against Israeli Occupation Ministers by Five Nations

Kuwait City: The Arab Parliament on Wednesday welcomed the decision by the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Norway, and Canada to impose sanctions on two Israeli occupation ministers for their hostile, extremist incitement against Palestinians. The move is a significant step toward holding Israeli officials accountable for ongoing crimes against Palestinians and repeated breaches of international law and UN resolutions, Arab Parliament Speaker Mohammad Al-Yamahi said in a statement.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Yamahi urged other countries to adopt similar measures to isolate these extremists, end unaccountability, and protect the two-state solution. He also called for an arms embargo on Israeli occupation and full recognition of the State of Palestine.

Al-Yamahi strongly condemned the Israeli occupation's attack on the aid ship Madleen and the abduction of those on board as it tried to break Gaza's blockade. He labeled the act a grave violation of international humanitarian law, revealing the intent to stifle Gaza's besieged population. The raid amounts to systematic state terrorism, he asserted, demanding the activists' immediate release and urging protection for all humanitarian workers.

On Tuesday, the five nations sanctioned National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, citing their support for crimes against humanity and their calls for further violence in Gaza.
