Beirut: Secretary-General of the Arab Media Forum Madhi Al-Khamis announced on Monday that the decision to hold this year's forum in Beirut underscores its Arab cultural, media, and historical significance. Al-Khamis shared this during a press conference in the Lebanese capital, detailing preparations for the forum, which will see participation from Secretary-General of the Arab League Ahmad Aboul-Gheit, as well as various Arab media ministers and figures.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the event, themed "Media and Sustainable Development: Partners of the Present - Alliance for the Future," will be conducted under the patronage of Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. Al-Khamis emphasized Lebanon's role as a hub for journalism, thought, freedom, and creativity, making it an ideal host for Arab journalists, writers, and media professionals.
Al-Khamis praised the Arab Media Forum as a premier professional gathering since its inception in 2003. He highlighted its role as a pan-Arab platform for dialogue, sharing expertise, and offering future insights on media-making. The forum will particularly focus on challenges such as artificial intelligence, misinformation, information flow, and the future of journalism, along with visual and digital media in the Arab world.
