Arab League Denounces Terror Attack on Syrian Church

Cairo: Secretary General of the Arab League Ahmed Abul-Gheit strongly condemned on Monday the terrorist attack that targeted a church in Syria, leading to several casualties.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Abul-Gheit expressed the Arab League's deep concern over this new development, emphasizing the targeting of civilians in a place of worship and the potential negative repercussions on security and stability in Syria.

He highlighted the ongoing threat posed by terrorist organizations, particularly the so-called Islamic State (IS/Daesh), noting that their risks have increased amidst the prevailing chaos and insecurity.

Abul-Gheit also expressed hope that the Syrian government would effectively confront these terrorist organizations and others that threaten civil peace in Syria and the region. He reaffirmed the Arab League's solidarity with the Syrian government and people and pledged support for efforts toward a peaceful transitional process that upholds the rights of all Syrians and fulfills their aspirations for stability and development.
