CAIRO, Arab League Secretary General Ahmad Abul-Gheit expressed Friday his heartfelt condolences to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on the victims of the fire that erupted at a building of the Jebalia Camp, north of the besieged Gaza Strip.
Abul-Gheit voiced his sincere sympathy and solidarity with the Palestinian people in this incident, praying to Allah to bestow his mercy upon the victims and bring solace to their relatives.
The fire resulted in the death of at least 21 people and the injury of several others, according to local sources.
The blaze ripped through a residential building in the densely-populated refugee camp, north of the Strip.
Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported that several children were among the dead.
