Arab Conference Calls for Enhanced Drug Combating Measures


Tunis: The 39th Arab Conference of Drug Control Agencies has emphasized the need for Arab countries to devise comprehensive plans, strategies, and legislation to effectively combat drugs and psychotropic substances. The conference also highlighted the importance of strengthening the immediate exchange of information related to drug control.



According to Kuwait News Agency, the conference was chaired by Kuwait and held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers in Tunis. The event saw discussions on the experiences and plans of member states in combating drugs. The participants also reviewed the outcomes of the second meeting of the working group focused on the immediate exchange of information on drugs and psychotropic substances. Additionally, a workshop on establishing an “Arab Drug Monitor” was part of the conference agenda.



The conference spanned three days and was led by Brigadier General Mohammed Qabazard, Director General of the General Department for Drug Control at the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior. The Kuwaiti delegation also included Colonel Abdullah Al-Rabeeah, Director of the International Drug Control Department, and First Lieutenant Abdulhatti Al-Attar, an officer in the General Department of Drug Control.
