Kuwait City: An Amiri decree was issued on Monday canceling a scheme to exchange unused leave days with cash during years of employment. Amiri decree 63/2025, signed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, nullifies the third article of item 41 of the decree concerning civil service, initially issued on April 4, 1979.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the new decree was reviewed and approved before being passed. The government has been tasked with implementing the changes following the decree's publication in the official gazette. The decision marks a significant shift in employment policy, impacting how unused leave is handled for civil service employees.
