Algeria Announces Successful Extinguishing of 47 Fires Across 12 Provinces

Algiers: The Algerian Civil Protection Services announced on Monday that 47 fires affecting forests, bushes, and agricultural crops had been extinguished across 12 provinces, without recording any human losses. According to Kuwait News Agency, the Algerian Civil Protection Services specified that its units managed to extinguish forest fires in the eastern provinces of the country, including Batna, Tebessa, and Bordj Bou Arreridj, where one fire was reported. In Bejaia, 13 fires were extinguished, while Tizi Ouzou experienced 18 fires. Other affected areas included Jijel with three fires, and Setif, Skikda, and Boumerdes, each with two fires. Additionally, fires were reported and extinguished in the western regions of Chlef and Ain Temouchent, as well as one fire in the capital, Algiers. Despite the successful extinguishing of these fires, the Civil Protection Services indicated that efforts are ongoing to manage some remaining fires and maintain vigilance through continued guarding operations. The Algeria n Ministry of Interior issued a statement urging citizens to cooperate with authorities by reporting any outbreaks of forest and agricultural fires. The ministry emphasized the importance of following safety instructions, especially in light of rising temperatures, which increase the risk of fires and pose a threat to lives, property, and natural as well as agricultural resources.
