Kuwait: The "Al-Salhiya Fine Arts Forum" commenced Sunday in Kuwait, organized through a collaboration between the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the Arab Media Forum, and the Al-Salhiya Complex. The event features 23 Kuwaiti artists who are presenting 51 paintings and artworks, and it is set to run until January 17.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Dr. Mohammad Al-Jassar, the Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, stated that the forum's objective is to bolster the Kuwaiti visual arts scene and offer local artists the chance to display their work in public spaces that are accessible to a broader audience.
Dr. Al-Jassar mentioned that the exhibition includes over 50 paintings and ceramic pieces that represent a range of artistic schools and styles. He noted that the quality of the participating works showcases the international presence of Kuwaiti fine arts while underlining the development and variety of its creative expressions.
He further explained that hosting art exhibitions in commercial complexes helps bridge the gap between Kuwaiti artists and the public, particularly those who might not have direct access to the arts. Dr. Al-Jassar stressed that such cultural initiatives can expand the public's engagement with fine arts, a goal that motivates the council to keep supporting public art events.
The forum is part of a larger initiative to enhance cultural participation and to increase the visibility of Kuwait's artistic talent both within the country and on the international stage.
