Al-Salam Charity Launches Ramadan Food Basket Distribution in Kuwait

Kuwait city: Al-Salam Society for Humanitarian and Charitable Works has initiated the distribution of Ramadan food baskets at its headquarters in the Jahra area. The campaign, running from Sunday to Tuesday, aims to assist underprivileged families in Kuwait by providing essential food supplies in preparation for the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Salam Society Director General Hamad Al-Aoun stated that the Ramadan basket project is a key seasonal initiative for the society, carried out annually about two weeks before Ramadan. The project is designed to ease the daily hardships faced by vulnerable families and enhance their stability during this time.

The Ramadan basket initiative is part of a broader set of humanitarian activities, which also include distributing electrical appliances and implementing similar food basket projects in Yemen, Gaza, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Sudan. These efforts are targeted at supporting the most needy families in these regions.

Hamad Al-Aoun highlighted the strong backing from donors both within Kuwait and internationally, especially during Ramadan when charitable activities are most prevalent. The initiative aims to distribute between 3,000 and 4,500 food baskets, ensuring they reach as many needy families as possible through the society's official registration platforms. The baskets are filled with essential food items to support families throughout the holy month, helping to alleviate their burdens.
