Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stressed the need to implement (proactive) oversight operations to combat financial and administrative corruption.
His media office stated: “Al-Mandalawi met in his office today, the head of the Bureau of Financial Supervision, Ammar Subhi al-Mashhadani, to discuss a number of files and laws related to the work of the Bureau, and ways to activate its oversight role during the current and coming period.”
Al-Mandalawi stressed the need to implement proactive oversight operations to combat financial and administrative corruption to preserve public money, and to follow up the measures taken by the Bureau Committee No. (50) of 2019 regarding the recovery of trespassed state real estate in Baghdad and the governorates, and the adoption of the standard of professionalism and competence in selecting the people who manage this important file, expressing Parliament’s support for the work of all oversight institutions, by issuing legislation and decisions that enhance the tasks and duties entrusted to it.
He stressed the importance of completing the final financial accounts for the previous years, and coordinating with the House of Representatives and its concerned committees to achieve integration in the oversight aspect, in a way that contributes to striking corruption and its supporters and preserving the people’s goods, and considering the possibility of allocating a number of job grades to the Bureau in coordination with the Federal Service Council according to a specialized selection committee that be formed by the Office of Financial Supervision.
