Al-Budaiwi Discusses GCC-Yemen Ties with Yemeni PLC Chairman

Riyadh: Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jasem Al-Budaiwi engaged in discussions with Chairman of Yemen's Presidential Leadership Council (PLC) Rashad Al-Alimi regarding the relations between the GCC and Yemen.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Alimi welcomed Al-Budaiwi in Riyadh, where they examined Yemen's current situation, focusing on the recent developments in the Hadhramaut and Al-Mahrah governorates. The GCC Secretariat issued a statement highlighting these discussions.

Al-Budaiwi emphasized the GCC's commitment to supporting efforts aimed at enhancing security and stability in Yemen. He reiterated the Council's unwavering support for the PLC, under Al-Alimi's leadership, and its affiliated entities. He also underscored the necessity for a comprehensive political solution based on three reference frameworks, ensuring the preservation of Yemen's sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, and independence.

In response, Al-Alimi expressed appreciation for the GCC countries' supportive stance, leadership role, and significant efforts to aid Yemen in various fields, contributing to enhanced stability and development.
