Al-Azhar Condemns Israel’s Reoccupation of Gaza as a Stigma of Shame

Kuwait city: Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Egypt's largest Islamic scientific institution, strongly denounced the recent decision of "the brutal Israeli occupation authorities" to take full control of the Gaza Strip. The move represents "an ineradicable stigma of shame for the international institutions that failed to stand up against such brutality," a press release from the Sheikhdom of Al-Azhar said on Saturday.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the statement from Al-Azhar highlighted that this action further demonstrates the occupation authorities' intent to eradicate the existence of Palestine from the world map and seize the remaining parts of its territories through force and terrorism.

The statement emphasized that the Israeli occupation authorities continue to commit atrocities against the Palestinian people, who are the rightful owners of the land. Al-Azhar called for an end to the Israeli occupation's policies of thuggery and violence, which disregard international laws, conventions, and UN resolutions.

Al-Azhar urged all Arab, Islamic, and international institutions to exert more political, diplomatic, and legal pressure on the Israeli occupation entity to resolve the significant catastrophe in the Palestinian territories. The ongoing chaos and unprecedented disaster present a grave risk of dragging the entire region into an abyss, necessitating a firm stand from the international community.
