Al-Araji stresses the importance of the international community’s cooperation to end Al-Hol camp file

The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, stressed the importance of the international community’s cooperation to end the file of the Syrian Al-Hawl camp, to remove its danger from the region.

The Chancellery said in a statement: “Al-Araji met in his office today, British Secretary of State for Security Affairs Tom Tu Ghandat, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the British Ambassador in Baghdad, Stephen Hitchin.”

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the overall political and security situation in the region, in addition to discussing the development of friendship and cooperation relations between Iraq and the United Kingdom.

Al-Araji assured the delegation that Iraq had defeated the terrorist ISIS, but it is waging an intelligence battle to enhance its security and stability, preserve the security achievements and dry up the sources of terrorism in all its forms, indicating that Iraq has field experience and needs to be reinforced with academic expertise, stressing the importance of concluding memorandums of understanding between the two countries, to enhance the capabilities and capabilities of the Ministry of the Interior, as well as benefit in the field of cybersecurity and drug control.

With regard to the Syrian Al-Hol camp file, Al-Araji stressed that the goal is to end this file through the cooperation of the international community, to remove the danger of this camp from the region.

For his part, Tu Ghandat expressed the UK’s aspiration to conclude a memorandum of understanding in the field of combating drugs and human trafficking, stressing the importance of the international community’s continued support for Iraq.
