Acting Info. Min Highlights Farmers’ Market Initiative Aiding Kuwaiti Farmers

Kuwait city: Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology Affairs and Acting Minister of Information and Culture Omar Al-Omar announced that the farmers' market initiative plays a pivotal role in supporting Kuwaiti farmers and promoting their products in local markets. The initiative, which is organized by the supreme tourism committee in collaboration with Ghalia Company, provides essential sales outlets near residential areas, enabling farmers to present their produce directly to consumers.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Omar emphasized that placing the market within residential zones facilitates access to fresh local produce for both citizens and expatriates. He underscored the significance of the market held at Al-Edailia area park, highlighting its potential for economic and social benefits and advocating for its continuation.

Meanwhile, Abdulrazzaq Al-Mutawa, head of Ghalia, stated that the company has set up 40 selling stands, alongside additional spaces for honey and dairy products. This initiative aims to bolster local producers and enhance food security in Kuwait. The market is scheduled to remain open until next Saturday.
