A delegation from the Kurdistan Region is looking into Michigan, which is a twin between Dohuk and Detroit

A delegation from the Kurdistan Region discussed with the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce the promotion of trade relations between the two sides and the twinning between the cities of Dohuk and Detroit in the state of Michigan.

The delegation, which included the Governor of Dohuk, Ali Tatar, the head of the Kurdistan Region Investment Commission, Muhammad Shukri, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Dohuk, Iyad Halim, and a member of the Kurdistan Parliament, Robin Omlik, met yesterday, Friday, in Detroit, with officials of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce.

“The decision to twin the cities of Dohuk and Detroit is scheduled to be signed soon,” the Governor of Dohuk, Ali Tatar, told Rudaw, noting that they had discussed with officials of the Chaldean American Chamber of Commerce a number of projects to be implemented in the Kurdistan region.

For his part, the head of the Kurdistan Region Investment Commission said, “Two large American trade delegations are scheduled to visit Iraq and the Kurdistan region” in the coming months.

He added that the Kurdistan region “has made all preparations to provide facilities to American companies, so that they can invest in non-oil projects.

The Head of the Kurdistan Region Investment Commission confirmed that the Kurdistan Regional Government provides facilities to investors, saying: “We came to tell them that the doors of the Kurdistan Region are open for investment in all provinces and independent departments.

Muhammad Shukri explained that the non-oil investments of American companies in the Kurdistan region amount to 125 million dollars.
