Qasreshirin: A 5.1 magnitude earthquake hit the Iranian city of Qasreshirin in the Kermanshah province, which borders Iraq, as announced by Iranian authorities on Monday. The early morning tremor prompted residents to evacuate their homes and seek safety in the streets due to the fear of potential aftershocks.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Iranian Seismological Center reported that the earthquake struck at 4:32 A.M. local time, with its epicenter at a depth of eight kilometers. The tremor's impact was further felt in the nearby regions, causing significant concern among the local populace.
Afshin Yeganeh, the crisis management director in the Kermanshah province, informed Iranian state television that the epicenter of the earthquake was located in Khanaqin, Iraq. Fortunately, there have been no reports of casualties following the seismic activity. In response to the earthquake, relief and rescue teams were dispatched to the affected area to evaluate the situation and provide necessary assistance.
