Zelensky Announces UAE to Host Trilateral Talks on Ukraine

Davos: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Thursday that the first trilateral talks involving Ukraine, Russia, and the United States will be held later this week in the United Arab Emirates. He did not specify whether these talks would be direct or indirect.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Zelensky made this announcement during his address at the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, following what he described as a productive meeting with US President Donald Trump. Zelensky emphasized that the Russian side must be prepared to make concessions. He noted that documents aimed at ending the war in Ukraine, prepared in coordination with the US, are nearly ready.

Zelensky highlighted the importance of US security guarantees, stating that security proposals from European entities would not suffice without US involvement. He expressed regret over the lack of political will within the European Union in addressing issues with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Additionally, he stressed the need for the establishment of European armed forces to enhance security measures.
