Youth Minister Hails Kuwait’s National Football Team on FIFA Arab Cup Qualification

Kuwait city: Kuwaiti Minister of Information and Culture and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Abdulrahman Al-Mutairi on Tuesday congratulated Kuwait's national football team on advancing to the FIFA Arab Cup scheduled in Qatar next month.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the minister praised the remarkable performance of the Blues during their match against Mauritania, which resulted in a 2-0 victory, securing their spot in the pan-Arab championship. Al-Mutairi also acknowledged the significant efforts made by the Kuwaiti Football Association along with the technical and executive staff.

He emphasized the strong support for Kuwaiti sports from the political leadership and expressed optimism about achieving more sporting successes in the future. Earlier in the day, Kuwait's national team triumphed over Mauritania with Mohammad Daham scoring the opening goal in the seventh minute and adding another in the 23rd minute at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

Qatar is set to host the FIFA Arab Cup 2025 for the second consecutive time, following the inaugural tournament in 2021. The competition will see sixteen nations from the Arab world vying for the title, including current champions Algeria. The Final Stage of the tournament will take place from December 1-18, 2025, after the Qualification Stage on November 25-26, 2025.
