Kuwait city: Minister of Social Affairs and Family and Childhood Affairs Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah emphasized that World Humanitarian Day is an annual event dedicated to honoring and recognizing the contributions of humanitarian workers worldwide.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Al-Huwailah stated that Kuwait remains actively involved in humanitarian efforts through its official institutions, charitable societies, and endowments, with the Kuwait Red Crescent Society playing a leading role in exemplifying the nation’s spirit of giving, especially in areas affected by disasters and crises.
Al-Huwailah underscored that this day serves as an opportunity to commend Kuwaiti humanitarian workers who have dedicated their time and efforts under challenging circumstances to assist those in need. She also highlighted the day as a reminder of Kuwait’s unwavering humanitarian responsibility and its commitment to promoting international solidarity.
The minister mentioned that the consistent donations made by the Kuwaiti people, in response to disasters and humanitarian crises, demonstrate the society’s dedication to humanitarian principles. She also addressed the growing challenges faced by humanitarian work, such as difficulties in accessing affected areas and security risks that endanger field workers, and called for enhanced international protection and smoother aid delivery processes.
Al-Huwailah noted that Kuwait continues to strengthen its partnerships with the United Nations and international organizations to ensure timely assistance to beneficiaries. She emphasized that humanitarian work is a fundamental aspect of Kuwait’s policy, serving as a tribute to those who have sacrificed for humanity and recognizing all who diligently work to save lives.
