Wide media coverage of HM King’s Arab Summit speech

Arab, GCC and international media outlets have focused on the keynote speech delivered by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa at the 32nd Arab Summit, which was held in the Saudi city of Jeddah yesterday.

While addressing the pan-Arab summit, HM the King stressed the need to preserve the legitimate rights of Egypt and Sudan in the waters of the Nile River, confirming Bahrain’s principled stance towards this issue, and firm approach in supporting the just causes of the Arab and Islamic nations.

In this regard, the Cairo-based “Al-Ahram” newspaper highlighted HM the King’s assertion of Egypt’s historical right to the Nile river waters, and support for the Palestinian cause, through HM’s call for carrying on the peace process in a way that would lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state, according to the two-state solution.

The same newspaper also paid attention to HM the King’s call to achieve Arab integration, consolidate the just peace process for the sake of the region’s stability, and back Arab endeavours to form a balanced world order.

The El-Youm El-Sabe newspaper highlighted HM King Hamad’s call for protecting the legitimate Arab rights and enhancing intra-Arab reconciliation in order to carry on achieving the goals of joint Arab action, in a way that would optimise common gains at all levels.

The website of the Al-Qahera News TV also shed light on HM the King’s call for achieving Arab integration, welcoming of the ongoing Arab efforts to establish a balanced regional order, and the return of Syria to the Arab League, as well as confirmation of Egypt’s Nile River water rights.

Saudi “Al Youm” newspaper also covered the royal speech at the 32nd Arab Summit. It focused on HM the King’s confirmation of Egypt’s water rights, and call for stepping up joint Arab action with more determination and solidarity to establish stability and harmony that Arab peoples must enjoy.

In the same context, “Russia Today”, the international news website analysed the royal speech from various dimensions, highlighting HM the King’s stances calling for ending wars, achieving peace and reinstating security and peace so that the world regains its economic and environmental recovery.

The “Al Arab Al Yawm” news website focused on HM the King’s call for strengthening the pillars of joint Arab action, in light of efforts to form a new balanced regional order, as reflected in the resumption of the Saudi-Iranian diplomatic relations, the continuity of the humanitarian truce in Yemen and the return of Syria to the Arab League.

Other Arab media outlets and news websites also dealt with the lofty royal speech from various angles, given the comprehensive visions it contained for the various conditions of the Arab region, and the solutions and initiatives it presented in order to strengthen the joint Arab action and solidarity to consolidate peace, stability and prosperity for the Arab peoples.

They indicated that HM King Hamad’s announcement of the kingdom’s hosting of the 33rd Arab Summit embodies the royal strong belief in the importance of consolidating Arab joint action towards more cooperation and complementarity for the best interests of Arab world.
