WHO representative hails cooperation with Kuwaiti gov’t in low income nations

The World Health Organisation representative in Kuwait Dr. Assad Hafeez on Wednesday praised cooperation between the United Nations agency and the Kuwaiti government, particularly in low-income countries.

The UN’s global health agency is currently working with Kuwait’s Health Ministry to ensure the achievement of UN-proposed Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) domestically, the WHO representative told attendees of a debate.

Dr. Hafeez said he also appreciates the government’s role in supporting WHO’s global activities, through cooperation with the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.

Through these endeavours, he said, Kuwait seeks to fill critical gaps in health systems and support primary healthcare facilities in low-income countries around the world.
