Weekly Cabinet Stresses Nationalizing Health Services for Better Care

Kuwait city: The Cabinet has underlined the need of nationalizing health services in a way that enhances care quality and raises national cadres' efficiency. This was announced on Tuesday after the weekly cabinet meeting held under the chairmanship of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah at Bayan Palace.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the ministers were informed about the outcomes of Minister of Health Dr. Ahmad Al-Awadhi's official visit to France, which included the signing of some memoranda of understanding with a number of outstanding medical institutions. The Cabinet was also apprised of the letters sent to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah from sisterly and friendly countries regarding means of boosting bilateral ties and activating mutual collaboration, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Shereeda Abdullah Al-Mousherji.

The meeting also included a briefing on His Highness the Prime Minister's reception of Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Industry Kamel Al-Wazir and his delegation at Bayan Palace, focusing on the enhancement of ties between the two countries. Additionally, First Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Sheikh Fahad Yusuf Saud Al-Sabah updated the ministers on his official visit to Lebanon and Syria, where he discussed strengthening bilateral relations, mainly in security, with senior officials from both countries.

In light of its commitment to combating climate change, the Cabinet reviewed a presentation by Minister of Oil Tareq Al-Roumi and senior officials from the Environment Public Authority on a national long-term roadmap aimed at achieving sustainable economic growth through innovative techniques and enhancing Kuwait's resilience against climate change repercussions.

The Cabinet further examined a presentation by Minister of Finance and Minister of State for Economic Affairs and Investments Noora Al-Fassam regarding the requirements for Kuwait's assessment in the upcoming phase. Al-Fassam also presented the final statement of the State's FY 2024-2025, revealing a deficit of KD 1,056,000,000, necessitating concerted efforts from all governmental bodies to address waste and develop non-oil revenues.

Finally, the Cabinet reviewed and approved some bills on the final statements for 2024-2025, referring them to His Highness the Amir. It also endorsed the report of the Supreme Committee for the Investigation of Kuwaiti Citizenship on the loss and withdrawal of nationality from some individuals, in accordance with Law No. 15 of 1959.
