WCS General Assembly Approves 2026-2036 Ten-Year Strategic Roadmap

Manama: President of the World Camelids Sport (WCS) Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed chaired the fifth WCS General Assembly meeting on Saturday in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with over 85 board members and heads of national federations from across the continents in attendance. The meeting also saw the presence of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the WCS General Assembly approved a ten-year strategic roadmap (2026-2036) to elevate camel racing to the international stage through three main phases: the 'Standardization' phase, aimed at unifying regulations and competitions; the 'Expansion' phase, focused on enhancing infrastructure and media outreach; and the 'Coordination' phase, designed to secure full international recognition and cultivate a global fan base.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prince Fahad bin Jalawi extended congratulations to King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and the Bahraini people on the occasion of Bahrain's National Day, expressing wishes for continued security and prosperity. He also acknowledged the ongoing sports development in Bahrain under its leadership.

Prince Fahad bin Jalawi expressed gratitude to Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa for the hospitality and warm reception extended to the WCS delegation in Bahrain. He appreciated Bahrain's support in ensuring the success of the WCS General Assembly's activities, highlighting its role in promoting specialized sports and joint work within the international federation.

Furthermore, he acknowledged the support and attention that camel racing receives from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. He stated that their empowerment forms a fundamental pillar in enhancing the federation's global presence, which is moving towards governing the sport and transforming it into a global sporting and economic industry.
