"The United States applauds the ceasefire declaration between Cambodia and Thailand announced today in Kuala Lumpur," Rubio stated in a press release.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Rubio emphasized that President Trump and he are dedicated to an immediate halt to the violence and expect that the governments of Cambodia and Thailand will fully adhere to their promises to resolve the conflict. He also extended gratitude to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim for his leadership and for facilitating the ceasefire discussions, urging all involved parties to honor their commitments.
Rubio further highlighted that the United States would continue its commitment and involvement in this ceasefire process, which is organized in conjunction with Malaysia, to ensure a lasting resolution to the conflict.
