Damascus: The US on Tuesday condemned the "brutal and cowardly" attack on a Syrian church in Damascus on Sunday, calling on the Syrian government to bring the perpetrators to accountability.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the Spokesperson of the US Department of State, Tammy Bruce, expressed the United States' condemnation of the attack on the Mar Elias Greek Orthodox Church and extended condolences to the victims and their families during a briefing.
Bruce emphasized the importance of holding all perpetrators of violence accountable and urged the Syrian government to ensure the security of all Syrians, emphasizing the need to protect religious and ethnic minorities.
She further stated that the United States continues to support the Syrian government in its efforts to combat forces that aim to create instability and fear within Syria and the broader region.
