Washington: The US House of Representatives passed early Friday a package of nine billion US dollars in spending cuts to foreign aid and public broadcasting, handing a win to President Donald Trump. Some 216 representatives voted for the package while 213 rejected it. The measure will now head to the president to be signed into law.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the spending cuts package, which codifies some of Department of Government Efficiency's (DOGE) cuts into law, was a key priority for Trump. The measure focuses on cutting the spending of several US agencies and programs, reflecting President Trump's financial policy.
