Washington: US Vice President JD Vance stated that providing the US with an economic advantage in Ukraine constitutes a genuine security guarantee for Ukraine's future.
According to Kuwait News Agency, in an interview with Fox News, Vance asserted that the real security guarantee for Ukraine lies in granting the US an economic advantage, emphasizing that such an approach would be more effective than deploying foreign troops for protection. "If you want real security guarantees, if you want to actually ensure that Vladimir Putin does not invade Ukraine again, the very best security guarantee is to give Americans economic upside in the future of Ukraine," Vance said in the interview.
Vance further explained, "That is a way better security guarantee than 20,000 troops from some random country that hasn't fought a war in 30 or 40 years." He reiterated that President Donald Trump believes the US cannot fund this war indefinitely and that Ukrainians cannot fight forever, urging for a peaceful resolution and reaching a settlement.
The Vice President emphasized that the only realistic path to a settlement is through President Trump's approach and encouraged both the Russian and Ukrainian presidents to follow this course.
The US administration announced on Monday the suspension of all military aid to Ukraine amid heightened tensions between the two countries' leaders. This decision follows a tense verbal exchange at the White House last week and previous frictions between President Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy over media statements.
