vGerman Chancellor Assails Israeli Occupation Aggression on Gaza

Berlin: German Chancellor Friedrich Merz on Friday strongly criticized the Israeli occupation's actions in the Gaza Strip, stating that the conditions in the enclave are no longer acceptable.

According to Kuwait News Agency, the German Government has urged the Israeli occupation to cease firing and to provide full humanitarian aid to the population in Gaza. Chancellor Merz emphasized this stance during a news conference in Berlin.

Germany has already extended aid to Gaza and remains ready to offer further assistance to its residents. However, Merz noted that increased aid is contingent on cooperation from Israeli occupation authorities.

Despite calls within European circles to suspend the EU Association Agreement with Israel due to human rights violations in Gaza, Merz reaffirmed Germany's opposition to such measures. The German Government has maintained a supportive stance toward Gaza since Merz assumed office in May.
