US Supreme Court Rules Against Trump’s Tariff Imposition Under IEEPA

Washington: The Supreme Court of the United States has ruled that President Donald Trump unlawfully invoked the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) to impose sweeping unilateral tariffs on most US trading partners. This decision marks a significant legal setback for the Trump administration's trade policies.

According to Kuwait News Agency, President Trump responded to the Supreme Court's ruling by describing it as "disgraceful." Despite the setback, Trump asserted that he has "stronger alternatives" and announced his intention to introduce a 10 percent global tariff under a different legal authority, signaling a continued commitment to his trade agenda.

In other international news, the Lebanese National News Agency reported that more than 10 people were killed and over 30 others injured in an airstrike carried out by Israeli occupation forces on the Beqaa Valley region in eastern Lebanon. The attack has drawn significant attention and concern from the international community.

President Trump also made headlines by stating that he is considering a limited strike against Iran if it does not reach a deal with the US to constrain its nuclear program. This announcement highlights the ongoing tensions between the two nations.

Meanwhile, in London, Britain's Minister for Defense Readiness and Industry, Luke Pollard, announced that Britain and European allies are planning to develop low-cost air defense weapons to protect NATO members from potential threats.
