Washington: The US Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the importance of reinforcing transatlantic security and urged Europe to augment its defense spending during a discussion with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Rubio also pointed out the "challenges" posed by China during his conversation with Kallas, who also serves as Vice President of the European Commission. The Secretary expressed his approval for the extension of EU sanctions against Russia in response to its ongoing conflict with Ukraine. The dialogue also explored methods to enhance US-EU collaboration on mutual priorities.
