US Sanctions Third-Country Enablers of Russia’s War Against Ukraine.

Washington: The United States imposed sanctions on nearly 400 entities and individuals for enabling Russia's illegal war against Ukraine. "This action targets multiple sectors essential to Russia's war effort," Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken stated in a press release. According to Kuwait News Agency, the sanctions are aimed at curbing the efforts of various third-country actors that have been circumventing existing sanctions. These include several senior Russian Ministry of Defense officials, defense companies, and individuals involved in the development of Russia's future energy production and exports. The measures specifically target PRC-based companies that have been exporting dual-use goods critical to Russia's military-industrial base, as well as entities and individuals associated with the Lukashenka regime's support for the Russian defense industry. The Department of the Treasury is focusing on third-country sanctions evasion networks that bolster Russia's war machine, alongside domestic Russia n importers and producers of key military-industrial inputs. Additionally, the Department of Commerce is adding 40 entities to its Entity List and tightening controls on nearly 50 more to prevent the diversion of sensitive items to Russia. Commerce is also restricting exports of precursor chemicals to Russia and Belarus to counteract their use of riot control agents and other battlefield chemicals in Ukraine. "We will continue to use all available tools to disrupt networks of support for Russia's military-industrial base wherever they may operate," Blinken affirmed, emphasizing the United States' stance of solidarity with Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression.
