US Pushes for Immediate Ceasefire Between Cambodia and Thailand

Washington: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in discussions with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, urging the Cambodian government to deescalate tensions with Thailand and agree to an immediate ceasefire over the ongoing border dispute.

According to Kuwait News Agency, Secretary Rubio emphasized President Trump's commitment to peace and highlighted the significance of an immediate ceasefire. The United States has expressed its readiness to facilitate future discussions to ensure peace and stability between Thailand and Cambodia.

In parallel, Rubio also communicated with Thai Foreign Minister Maris Sangiampongsa, pressing the Thai government to deescalate tensions with Cambodia and agree to a ceasefire. Rubio reiterated President Trump's desire for peace and the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire.
