Washington: US President Donald Trump announced that a peace deal concerning the conflict in Gaza is "beyond very close." The statement came on Monday following discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in the US capital. According to Kuwait News Agency, the peace talks did not include the Palestinian resistance group Hamas, which has only just been informed of the proposal crafted by the White House. The plan outlines an end to military operations, the release of Israeli hostages, and the immediate provision of aid to Gaza. President Trump emphasized that if Hamas rejects the plan or fails to implement it, Netanyahu will have full US support to "do what he has to do." The proposal suggests that Hamas will not have a role in governing Gaza and allows for the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state in the future. Additionally, the plan includes the creation of a "board of peace" to oversee its implementation. The board will be led by President Trump, with former British Prime Minist er Tony Blair expressing interest in participating.
