Gaza: The US Special Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, will travel to the Gaza Strip tomorrow to evaluate the extent of the humanitarian disaster occurring there. Witkoff's visit aims to assess the dire conditions faced by over two million Palestinians who have been severely impacted since the bombardments began on October 7, 2023.
According to Kuwait News Agency, Witkoff met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discuss the ongoing situation in Gaza. During these discussions, it was noted that Israeli authorities remain "pessimistic" about the likelihood of reaching any ceasefire agreements with Hamas in the near future.
Witkoff's itinerary includes a visit to US distribution aid centers in Gaza, where he will observe the critical humanitarian conditions. The centers have reported that the number of Palestinians killed has risen to 1,330, with the broader conflict resulting in a total of 8,818 casualties.
